Shopping

Most of us consider shopping to be a common activity that takes place more or less every day. For some it is a pleasure, a respite, a release from the problems of everyday life. Women in particular love shopping, but for men it is irrelevant. If done too often, it can be harmful. Today, shopping is so often an addiction that it is called shopping addiction.

Shopping addiction
is now a very common phenomenon, with a strong urge to shop constantly. The consequences are often disastrous, especially financial problems. Many people are even willing to go into debt to satisfy their shopping cravings, resulting in debt and often falling into financial traps. Shopaholics usually visit stores without yet knowing what they want to buy. At first they show satisfaction, but soon they feel guilt, indifference, or even anger. Then, they will not let go of the item because they do not need it at all. Many people try to fight shopaholism, but it is very difficult because the big stores know the psychology of their customers very well. For example, when you walk into a department store, you will find a large trolley, various leaflets, the hit of the month, and much more.

Treatment of shopping addiction
If already diagnosed with shopping addiction, treatment should begin as soon as possible. This consists of identifying the cause of the behavior and seeking a process to interrupt the behavior. The best known are various methods aimed at increasing self-control and at the same time reinforcing self-esteem. The most common long-term treatment involves relearning to manage money again.

Can one protect oneself from such addictions? Do not visit a store if you do not have what you need. To avoid making large purchases, write down a list of what you need. Alternatively, take only a modest amount of money with you to the store.
